4-Week Stream-of-Consciousness Writing Intensive
Beginning Wednesday, February 25 (2/25 3/11, 3/18, 3/25)
Back by popular demand, this four-week intensive — equal parts whimsy and rigor — invites writers of all backgrounds to use language as a slingshot into unexpected territory. Led by The Lab on Santa Fe’s Creative Director & Founder, Josh Berkowitz, the workshop is capped at just seven participants to ensure each person is fully seen, heard, and challenged. Drawing from a 17-year avant-garde performance trajectory that began at the University of Michigan and evolved through mentorship with Holly Hughes and Tim Miller, Josh brings a fearless, embodied approach to the page.
Through inventive prompts — including the “Anti-Toastmasters Exercise,” where polished eloquence gives way to something more raw and alive — participants learn to write from rhythm, impulse, and the fire in the belly. Optional poems, films, and essays between sessions deepen the exploration of risk, vulnerability, and creative courage.
